Biography
The 7th South Carolina Infantry Battalion, also known as Nelson's Rifles and Enfield's Rifles, was formed January 1862. Throughout the war it saw action at Drewery's Bluff, Cold Harbor, and the siege of Petersburg, VA. The battalion was located in North Carolina at the end of the war.

Folder nine contains documents concerning the Confederate military court of South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida in 1864 including a multipage fragment of a running list of military courts martial cases listing defendant’s names, charges, specific details of the charge, and witnesses.
