A broadside announcing Robert E. Lee's acceptance of the presidency of Washington College. The broadside was printed at the Lexington Gazette. The announcement was officially made by John W. Brockenbrough, Rector of Washington College.

This collection contains newspaper clippings of Dorman's poems, letters, and essays on various subjects published in the Lexington Gazette and other papers.

This collection consists of files containing newspaper articles, history essays and writing, and photographs concerning Native American land, battles with colonial settlers, prominent figures, and forts in Rockbridge County. Many materials describe the Shawnee Tribe and their presence and relationship with settlers in Kerrs Creek, Abbs' Valley, Balcony Falls, and Hayes Creek Mound. Some materials concern the death of Chief Cornstalk, also known as Hokoleskwa, and the Kerrs Creek Massacre.

This collection contains 'Bi-Centennial Issue of Lexington Gazzette Commemorating the Settlement of the Rockbridge Section of Virginia by the White Men, A Tribute To The Scotch-Irish Pioneers', several greeting cards from the school, a collection 19 early football photos, a copy of the Washington and Lee University Bulletin (Volume XLVII, Number 4), a portrait of Robert V. Ignico 1919 as a Brigadier General in the U.S. Air Force, and a scrapbook.
