Four Images (originals and copies) of McCown Springs, near Williamsville, Bath County, Va.
Images are contemporary copies of scrapbook photographs that likely dated between 1920 and 1950. One image shows a wooden gazebo. The other shows a hotel-like dwelling with a covered porch. McCown Springs was also known as All Healing Springs. Original source of photographs is unknown. Copies were made by Special Collections staff. Also included are two original photos.

McCown Family Papers
This collection consists primarily of business papers of the family including sale lists, indentures, land surveys, deeds, wills, promissory notes, and numerous receipts. It also includes 71 photographs from the collection of Samuel W. McCown, Jr. (WLU 1919).
Also incuded is a verse in remembrance of visit to Black Wall Cave, January 30, 1914, by H. M. Vest, which makes reference to several Rockbridge County, Virginia boys.

File includes a Rockbridge County News article entitled, "Civil War Memoirs of Mr. McCown Telling of Life in Northern Prison"; other brief newspaper notices about McCown from The Dallas Daily Herald; an obituary from the Lexington Gazette; and an image of Dr. Albert McCown and his father James L. McCown.
