George Hutcheson Denny Speech
This collection contains a typed copy of a speech given in 1911, by George H. Denny, President of Washington and Lee University, as he departed for the University of Alabama as well as a photocopy of the speech in shorthand form, taken by Harry E. Meek, Washington and Lee University, Class of 1915.
Rupert Nelson Latture Valedictory address
Rupert Latture's address recalls highlights of the Class of 1915 at Washington and Lee University. It makes an extended analogy to Nathaniel Hawthorne's short story, 'The Great Stone Face.' It also includes humorous references to Washington and Lee President George Hutcheson Denny.
