Oscar W. Riegel, also known as Tom, was a member of the Journalism faculty at Washington and Lee University from 1930-1997.

Scope and Contents This collection consists of typescript copies of drafts of stories and articles, some with accompanying research documents, which were written by Kinney for the New Yorker magazine, 1949 - 1954. Also included are correspondences written to Kinney's friend and former professor O. W. 'Tom' Riegel, clippings, miscellaneous papers, and one photograph of the unveiling of the United States Marine Core monument.
