Biography

WLU Class of 1929. Worked for Standard Oil Corporation. Captured with wife and child in the Phillipines in 1942. Died while being transported by Japanese to prison in Japan from Phillipines in 1944.

Scope and Contents This collection consists of nine letters from William C. Watson, Jr. to William L. (Billy) Wilson between 1927 and 1941. Both were students and graduated of Washington and Lee University. After college, Watson went to work for Standard-Vacuum Oil Company and was employed in Canton, China, among other places in the Far East.
