Biography

Elinor "Ellie" Junkin was born March 6, 1825 in Pennsylvania to Julia Rush Miller Junkin and Reverend George Junkin. She married Thomas Jonathan Jackson in Lexington, Virginia in August 1853 and died during childbirth in October 1854. She moved to Lexington, Virginia in 1848 with her family - her father being the newly elected president of Washington College. They lived on the campus of the college.
