Photocopies of newspaper clippings concerning the death of Barkley at Washington and Lee University.

This scrapbook was made by Swanson, the 1956 W&L Mock Convention chairman, featuring photographs and news items regarding the death of Alben W. Barkley while giving the event's keynote address. It includes letters from various senators (including Willis Robertson, Richard B. Russell, and Herman Talmadge) concerning Mock Convention and contains photographs of Sharon Ritchie, Miss America 1956, who attended the convention.

This collection consists of papers showing that Ms. Thompson was seeking the approval of a few people to use their names on a petition to Senator Alben Barkley to protest filibuster tactics in order to allow the lend-lease bill to be passed.

In this letter Alben Barkley responds to an invitation to the presentation of an album containing the first sheet of Washington and Lee University commemorative stamps. The typescript is signed by Barkley.

Includes family and business correspondence and a variety of private collections, such as diaries, playbills, ship menus, as well as a significant collection of autographed photographs and letters of late 19th and early 20th century theatrical and musical performers.

This collection consists of the scrapbook of Victor Herrick Hanson, class of 1956. This scrapbook contains images relating to campus life including images of student activities and campus events from 1953. Of specific note is the inclusion of images related to Hanson's life as a member of Sigma Nu as well as when Alben Barkley passed away while speaking on campus on April 30, 1956.
