Letter of invitaton from Samuel McDowell Moore to John A. Washington III to attend an auction in Lexington, Virginia for the purchaseof purchasing a married couple who are enslaved. On the obverse, dated October 4, 1844, is a note from his wife Eleanor Washington at "Blakely."
