From the Collection:

Records of the Washington and Lee University radio station, WLUR 91.5, from its creation in 1967-68 to present. This record group is composed primarily of recordings from the radio station. Included among the tapes are earlier recordings from the Washington and Lee Journalism Dept. predating the founding of the radio station. The station was originally created as an arm of the Journalism Dept. It is now a branch of the Communications and Public Affairs Office.

Custodial History

Prior to the transfer of these materials to Washington and Lee Special Collections and Archives, two inventories were created, one in 1975 and one circa 1990. Below is the information related to this:

Original Title: panel discussion on "Marat de Sade" held on Feb. 26, 1967 in Washington and Lee Bookstore. The topic was the play Marat de Sade, which was produced by the Troubadour Theatre. The participants who appear on this part were Albert Gordon, Director of Theatre at Detroit University, and Dr. George W. Ray, English Professor at Washington and Lee. The program was broadcast shortly before the play in mid-March.

1975 - Categorized as "Dramatics," reel number 256, to be played at 7 1/2 speed

C.1990 - Categorized as "Culture (Orange)," reel number 8
