Biographical / Historical
Lorin Maazel, the conductor, was unable to perform due to an injury and was replaced by Edo de Waart for the concert. The second half of the concert was changed from The Rite of Spring by Stravinsky to Symphony No. 2 in D Major, Opus 73 by Brahms.
