Scope and Contents Handwritten manuscript draft of William Brown's protest to the Washington and Lee University Board of Trustees related to issues of religious life on campus and a handwritten response from Rev. F. B. Converse (Francis Bartlett Converse) to Brown.
Scope and Contents This collection includes manuscript and typecript sketches of 41 Washington and Lee Alumni who served in the American Civil War. The materials were compiled for a proposed memorial volume which was never completed. Included are letters to McDowell from veterans, descendants of veterans, and associates answering his request for information.

Scope and Contents This collection consists of a letter from William Jackson Humphreys written to Dr. Leslie L. Campbell. In the letter Humphreys gives an account of his time at Washington and Lee Univeristy. He mentions studies, dating, and nicknames of friends and professors.

Scope and Contents This collection consists of nine letters from William C. Watson, Jr. to William L. (Billy) Wilson between 1927 and 1941. Both were students and graduated of Washington and Lee University. After college, Watson went to work for Standard-Vacuum Oil Company and was employed in Canton, China, among other places in the Far East.
