This collection consists of seven notebooks detailing John Campbell's expenses and notes during his time at Washington and Lee. Included is a Washington and Lee University student handbook presented by the YMCA.

This register contains names of guests who visited the Rockbridge Baths, Virginia hotel between June 1871 and May 1882. Among them were many prominent faculty members of Washington and Lee University and Virginia Military Institute, as well as guests from the city of Lexington, Virginia.

This collection contains his student notebooks for courses in civil engineering (applied mathematics) taught by an unknown professor (possibly Willam Allan). Also contains an account book with records of his expenditures as a student from 1872-1876.

This ledger containing information about hotel guests was recorded by John P. Lynch, property trustee.

This account book covers Lewis' expenses over a seventeen year period, including expenditures on room, board, clothing and other items. During the first three years he was a student at Washington and Lee University.
