Bank of Rockbridge Collection
This collection consists of an Account Book dated 1862-1864 and a 1913 Everyday Almanac and Home Helps published by the Bank of Rockbridge. The almanac has a photograph of Natural Bridge on the back cover. It also includes a map of Fishersville and Chancellorsville.
Douglass Family Papers
This collection contains two invitations to Balls at the Natural Bridge and an 1841 invitation from the Society of Cadets at Virginia Military Institute to attend the celebration of their entrance into their new hall. They are addressed to Nancy and Frances Douglass of Fancy Hill, Rockbridge County, Virginia.
Natural Bridge
Photograph of A. Nash Johnston
This collection includes a photograph and accompanying negative of Dr. A. Nash Johnston. Johnston was born in Tazewell County, Va. lived and practiced medicine in Richmond and Goochland County, Va. He moved to Rockbridge County about 1890, where he practiced medicine, served as a state Senator from his district, and from 1900 - 1904 served as the Superintendent of Schools for the county. A. Nash Johnston was the son of Virginia novelist Mary Johnston.
