This collection includes correspondence concerning Campbell's negotations (1824-1825) as commissioner to the Creek Indians; a transcript of the proceedings and subsequent treaty of agreement relating to the removal of the Indians to points west of the Mississippi River; land deed of Archibald Campbell (d. 1820); and Campbell family genealogy.
McCown Family Papers
This collection consists primarily of business papers of the family including sale lists, indentures, land surveys, deeds, wills, promissory notes, and numerous receipts. It also includes 71 photographs from the collection of Samuel W. McCown, Jr. (WLU 1919).
Also incuded is a verse in remembrance of visit to Black Wall Cave, January 30, 1914, by H. M. Vest, which makes reference to several Rockbridge County, Virginia boys.
Patrick Henry Legal Papers
This document is a land deed dated 1785 Dec. 2 granting land to George May, [et al.] in Jefferson County, Virginia, which became Jefferson County, Kentucky in 1792.
Robert Alexander Legal Papers
This collection contains a deed, dated August 13, 1747, for a tract of land near the town of Greenville, Augusta County, Virginia, conveyed to Robert Alexander from William Beverley and two legal papers connected with the deed. There is also an authorized English Bible, 1766, with Robert Alexander's signature. Genealogical information by George Diehl is housed in the control folder.

Sir Thomas Sherley Indenture
This vellum indenture records the sale of farms and lands called Langharst and Blackbrokes in Petworth and Kirdford, Sussex, by the Sherleys (father and son) to Nicholas Hooker, goldsmith of London, for 250 pounds.
