The Effinger School collection consists of the compiled research of Clinton Lee Anderson and Henry A. Hatcher, co-authors of "Celebrate Effinger, 1922-2010" their published history of the Effinger School in the Collierstown vicinity of Rockbridge County, Virginia. Included within the collection are various records, publications, printed matter from the school, school newspapers, alumni records, photographs, and general history of the school.

This collection consists of a single Fork Union Academy Yearbook, 1907-1908. The yearbook contains the photographs and information on the student body at that time. Included within this student body is Francis P. Gaines, who would later become president of Washington and Lee University.

Some student's names are written on the back of one of the images, but not all are identified. This picture was taken sometime in the second half of the 19th century. It is unclear when the second photograph was taken, though it appears to be of the same era
