This collection consists of a single 8 x 6 photograph of eleven Confederate veterans standing in front of a home in Romney, West Va. The veterans are identified, and included is the inscription from the reverse of the original photograph. It says, 'Entertained at the home of John J. Cornwell and wife in honor of J. D. Parsons and his ex-confederate comrades, March 1915.'

Scope and Contents This letter was written by Mrs. E. F. Farrar and Annie De Moss from Vicksburg, Mississippi on February 15, 1866 to Robert E. Lee. The two women write that their letter includes a check for $536 intended for Stonewall Jackson's widow and child, and request that Lee forward it at his convenience. The letter continues and expresses the pain that is felt by them in defeat after the war's end, and describe the nature with which life continues in the south. This collection consists of three letters written by E. M. Walden from various Confederate States of America camps (near Wilmington, NC; Kinston, NC; and Richmond, VA) to his sister. He provides her with updates on CSA military activities and mentions General Sherman's raid in Georgia. The letters are dated June 13, 1863, Dec. 3, 1864, and Jan. 20, 1865.

Highlights of the collection include the letters of Alexander Swift(Sandie) Pendleton, a Washington College graduate who was a top aide to Thomas Jonathan "Stonewall" Jackson during the American Civil War.
