Ebenezer Mitchell Walden Correspondence

Scope and Contents This collection consists of three letters written by E. M. Walden from various Confederate States of America camps (near Wilmington, NC; Kinston, NC; and Richmond, VA) to his sister. He provides her with updates on CSA military activities and mentions General Sherman's raid in Georgia. The letters are dated June 13, 1863, Dec. 3, 1864, and Jan. 20, 1865.

Highlights of the collection include the letters of Alexander Swift(Sandie) Pendleton, a Washington College graduate who was a top aide to Thomas Jonathan "Stonewall" Jackson during the American Civil War.
