This collection consists of three scrapbooks and sets of photographs taken by Raymond J. Kirby. The scrapbooks contain photographs and newspaper clippings related to the flooding that occurred as a result of Hurricane Camille in August 1969. The photographs document damage from both Rockbridge and Nelson Counties and the City of Lexington. The collection also includes approximately 170 photographs of the construction of the Route 11 corridor bypass around Lexington, Virginia.

Mark Jones about the night of the hurricane; three copies of a report titled "Reaction of Flood Victims in Rockbridge County, Virginia" by a Washington and Lee class in Research Methods and Politics and Sociology; and a poster advertising the 50th anniversary commemoration of Hurricane Camille.
