Scope and Contents This collection consists of three letters addressed to Jane and one to Gordon. One addressed to Jane, dated 1879, is from her brother-in-law William Pendleton; it consoles her on the death of her long-time husband. The one to Gordon is from A. W. Pendleton in Warsaw, Virginia.

Scope and Contents This collection consists of five letters, four of which are written by Neel to his friends and family. In a letter to his mother dated June 22, 1864, Neel writes about receiving orders to travel to Lynchburg to meet Union General Hunter's forces, which had just moved through Lexington, Virginia.
