Russell, and Herman Talmadge) concerning Mock Convention and contains photographs of Sharon Ritchie, Miss America 1956, who attended the convention.

This collection consists of one original letter to Alexander Cockrell, a student at Washington and Lee University, from Miss Sallie Bullington, a family friend; one photocopy of a letter dated Oct. 24, 1874, from Frank Cockrell, a student at Washington and Lee, to his brother Alexander, a graduate of Washington and Lee; and a photocopy of a letter dated Dec. 25, 1875, from Frank Cockrell to his mother.
Daniel Harvey Hill Correspondence
In this Jan. 31, 1849 letter to Phelps Collins at West Point, New York, Hill describes the students he is teaching at Washington College and the townspeople of Lexington.

E. Dean Finney Papers
This collection consists of two letters written by Washington and Lee University student E. Dean Finney to his mother on December 8 and 11, 1941. He writes about the bombings at Pearl Harbor and how he expects many students will enlist in the military soon.
Edward Ferguson Devol Papers
These papers include an account of his student life at Washington and Lee University from 1940-1943, which mentions faculty members Fitzgerald Flournoy and Lawrence E. Watkin. There are also letters to his parents, documents, poetry and essays about his service in World War II, primarily in the European theater.
Edward Graham Correspondence
Letter [183-] from 'a citizen' [Edward Graham] extolling the military worth of students. In addition, a document, dated July 5, 1822, which is signed by John Quincy Adams, stipulating what government documents Washington College will receive.
Edward Miley Eustler Photographic Scrapbook
Edwin A. Pratt Correspondence
This collection contains one original letter dated Oct 28, 1880 and a photocopy of a letter dated September 1, 1880. Both letters are from Edwin A. Pratt to Emma Earle Chenault, who was the first woman doctor to practice medicine independently in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Pratt wrote the original letter while he was a student at Washington and Lee University and it describes campus and town life.
Fitzgerald Flournoy papers
This collection includes letters to and from John L. Campbell, Dean at Washington and Lee University, as well as letters to, from, and concerning Frank J. Gilliam, who was a member of the Washington and Lee class of 1917, 1912-1926. Campbell and Gilliam correspond about several members of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity being unable to return for the next semester due to grades. They also correspond about a prospective student from Lynchburg.

Frank M. Cockrell papers
This collection consists of correspondence from Frank M. Cockrell during his time as a student at Washington and Lee to his mother and his brother, Alexander. He writes about his classes and examinations, health, and the weather. Included are report cards, proficiency certificates, and his diploma from Washington and Lee University.
Frederick William McWane Papers
This collection includes Washington and Lee University-related photographs, documents, and mementos from McWane's days as a student and member of Omicron Delta Kappa, as well as a citation for his later work with the Virginia State Ports Authority.
George Earle Chamberlain Papers
This collection contains correspondence concerning Chamberlain's work on several Washington and Lee University committees from 1904-1908, including committee work on a chapter house for Phi Kappa Psi and on the new Carnegie library. It also includes his two notebooks from law courses (1875-1876) taught by John Randolph Tucker. Lastly, there is an 1874 photograph of Chamberlain and two fraternity brothers, G. M. Effinger, Class of 1874, and Floyd Farrar, Class of 1875.
